Herbert D. Stith, DDS

Dr. Stith received his Bachelor’s of Arts in Chemistry from Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, IL. He attended dental school at Northwestern University Dental School in Chicago, IL including an internship with the Northwestern Memorial Hospital Department of Dentistry. He completed his residency at Louisiana State University Medical Center in the department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Charity Hospital of New Orleans. He is currently certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Dr. Stith began his work in the Chicagoland area in 1985 with Dr. Martin Gustafson, D.D.S. He opened his own practice in St. Charles, IL in 1989 and moved to his current office in Geneva, IL in 1992.

Dr. Stith specializes in Dental Implant Surgery, Wisdom Teeth, General Anesthesia, Cleft Lip and Palate Surgery, Orthognathic (Jaw) Surgery, Traumatic Injuries to the face, Temporomandibular Joint Surgery, and Oral Surgery.

Dr. Stith currently holds hospital appointments with Delnor-Community Hospital in Geneva, IL; St. Joseph’s Hospital in Elgin, IL; Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, IL; Mercy Center Hospital in Aurora, IL; Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago, IL; and Central Dupage Hospital in Winfield, IL.

Dr. Stith held an academic appointment as Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Northwestern University Dental School in Chicago, IL from 1986-2001. He also was a member of the faculty of the Cleft Lip and Palate Institute at the Northwestern University Dental School in Chicago, IL from 1987-1999. Currently he is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the specialty of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago, IL.

Dr. Stith is currently a member of various professional organizations including the American Dental Association, the Illinois State Dental Association, the Fox River Valley Dental Society where he presided as President in 2002, the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons where he serves as Chariman of the Committee of Governmental Affairs, the Chicago Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the Illinois Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons where he presided as president in 2015-2016, and the American Cleft Palate Association.

Dr. Stith currently resides in Geneva, IL with his wife.  He has four grown children.
